The Power of the Gospel
📍 Middle Tennessee, United States
Being the oldest in his family, Shaker was left with the responsibility of providing for the needs of his younger siblings after surviving the loss of their parents. He had achieved the education he needed and was just starting out in his career when Shaker found himself being forced to take a side in his country's ongoing conflict.
Shaker made the decision to escape the violence in his home country and found a job in a neighboring country. Unfortunately, he was arrested for not having the proper documents for work.
In prison he met a friend who introduced him to a Christian TV program where he listened and discovered the truth of God's word. It was during this difficult time in his life that Shaker made the decision to give his life to Jesus and become a follower of Christ. He now had a personal relationship with God and a new purpose for living.
Though Shaker was persecuted for his newfound faith as well as rejected by his family and friends, nothing could compete with the new life he found in Christ. He felt a burden for his family and people to come to know Jesus and experience this new life as well. Shaker served and witnessed to the people within his sphere and began to see them come to Christ.
Today, through God's providence, Shaker is living in Middle Tennessee with his family. He has been sharing the gospel with his people and is seeing great fruit with many receiving Christ as their Savior. In addition to witnessing, he also helps them learn English and teaches them skills to acquire jobs.
What a blessing to have Shaker among us serving the Lord! Join us in praying for Shaker, his family, and for the resources needed to continue their ministry.
If I don't survive, my family will not survive, so I must find a new home where I can use my education and skills to provide for my family.
